In recent days, Fitbit users have been faced with heartbreaking news. The website 9to5Google discovered a support page in which Google states that it will stop selling its Fitbit products in close to 30 markets globally.
This page refers to Portugal as one of the countries where Fitbit products are no longer sold. However, the fact that the new Fitbit Charge 6 is officially sold by Google Store Portugal could confuse some users.
Google Portugal says that “Fitbit devices can still be purchased in Portugal”
We contacted Google Portugal and the clarification makes the technology’s position clear: “Fitbit devices can still be purchased in Portugal. The changes we’ve made relate exclusively to Fitbit’s local digital website and are part of the brand’s ongoing integration in some markets.”
Additionally, Google further clarifies that you won’t have to worry about future support if you purchase the Fitbit Charge 6. “Customers in these regions will continue to have access to Fitbit customer support, warranties and software/security updates will also be honored.”
What is at stake here is sales from the Fitbit website. This means you can continue to purchase the Fitbit Charge 6 seamlessly from the Google Store and have access to all the device support you need in the future. If you want to know more about the Charge 6, check out our detailed analysis.
This is also where you can buy all Pixel devices that are already officially sold in Portugal. We talk about the Pixel Watch 2 smartwatch, the Pixel Buds Pro earphones and the Pixel 7a, Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro smartphones.
