It is one of Garmin’s latest smartwatche and stands out for including recycled materials from the ocean in its construction.
Because it has these materials, it was named Ocean Edition, but in the name of sustainability it is also equipped with solar charging.
New Garmin smartwatch is aimed at water activities

The Garmin Descent G1 Solar-Ocean Edition joins the existing series and, like its “brothers”, supports several diving modes, from technical diving to free mode, and has the capacity to store up to 200 dives . All stored information can be viewed and shared through the Garmin Dive app. What’s more: it monitors water entry and exit points, with advanced satellite connectivity.
But it is also equipped with activities for the surface of the water, and through the Garmin Connect application it provides information about tides, wave heights, wind and even the surf rating of each of the closest locations ideal for practicing this sport.
New Garmin smartwatch has autonomy for up to 124 days
Regarding autonomy, the Descent G1 Solar-Ocean Edition, with just one charge, offers up to 25 hours of battery life when used in dive mode. Autonomy increases to up to 39 hours with GPS activated. Solar charging provides autonomy of up to 124 days in continuous operation, with moderate use.
As a smartwatch, it is also prepared to track other types of physical activities such as swimming, running, walking, cycling, golf, yoga, among others.
When paired with a compatible smartphone, the new smartwatch issues notification alerts from applications, as well as reports on incoming calls, text messages, calendar reminders, etc.
It should be noted that this equipment offers compatibility with both the Android operating system and Apple’s iOS.
The Garmin Descent G1 Solar-Ocean Edition is now available in Portugal, through the brand’s website, for a cost of 649.99 euros.
